EducationFormer Asst Professor of Physics at Penn State Univ (University Park), I work part-time out of choice, and due to physical disabilities. Enjoy teaching middle and high school Science & Math, one-on-one, online, or in person, as best suits the student's needs, preference.
Cornell University, PhD 1989, MS 1986, Physics. University of Delhi, India, MSc(Prev), BSc(Hons) 1983, Physics GPA 4.0. Postdoctoral Fellow at Fermilab, Univ Texas at Austin, and Kavli Inst Theoretical Physics, UCSB.
High School in New Delhi, India, Indian School Certificate. ICSE-X, ISC-XII, English, Science, Geog, History, Math, evenly high scores.
ExperienceI have had lasting impact on the diverse students I have tutored, both online, and in person--- mostly in Princeton, NJ. AP Physics C, AP Calculus AB, AP Physics 1-2, Physics Honors, Geometry Honors & Algebra I & II Honors. SAT Physics, GRE Physics, and GRE general.
I've taught students from both public (Princeton HS, W Windsor, South Brunswick), and private (Day, Hun, Lawrence), high schools; and from the Princeton Charter School; from Princeton University, New York University, and Rutgers Univ.
I was a straight A student, and I was ranked first in my college, and second in the University of Delhi, in the B. Sc.(Hons) Physics Class of 1983.
I encourage initiative and good self-esteem and self-confidence in my students. I love to teach--- I always adjust to the aptitude and the skill-level of the student. Good study habits and quick responses come with practice. Experience, with regular preparation, leads to confidence, and the ability to assess one's own readiness for a test, or exam. These are essential skills in any academic career.
I remain an active theoretical high energy physics researcher, and I continue to learn actively myself!
HobbiesI have a strong interest in choral music, and I sing with the Princeton Pro Musica ensemble (Soprano).
I have a growing interest in the History of the Catholic Church, or the subject of Historical Theology. I am keenly concerned with Global and Local Environmental Issues, Climate Change, Wildlife and Wilderness Conservation, & Social Justice. I am sensitive and open to teaching students of any race and national origin, any religion, & any gender identification or orientation. I have been in the US for over 30 years, and am very fluent in English; I also speak Bengali and Hindi.
