Education
Sophomore Math Major at Princeton University (GPA: 3.92; departmental GPA: 4.0). Graduated high school in top 1% (GPA: 4.57).
Experience
I have taught math in a number of different environments. These include working as a counselor at a program for advanced high schoolers, tutoring students who were struggling in my local high school's math courses, assisting for math courses at Princeton, and teaching seminars on miscellaneous mathematical topics to students in my high school's math team. Through these diverse experiences, I have learned how to adapt my teaching style to students who are in different parts of their mathematical development. My strong knowledge of mathematical fundamentals allows me to quickly identify any misunderstandings students might have; once these misunderstandings are ironed out, I find students can progress very quickly. I am also ready to take already-strong math students to the next level, whether that means grabbing an extra 100 points on the SAT or preparing themselves for college-level math classes. Since I have experience as a student, teacher, and grader, I know what graders are looking for, how teachers might fail to communicate that, and the misunderstandings students often have about what quality mathematical work looks like. By simultaneously clarifying expectations and internalizing the requisite mathematics, students are taking exactly the steps they need to improve their grades and exam scores. Some data about my exam scores and honors are below, SAT overall: 2350 SAT math: 800 SAT critical reading: 800 800s on the following SAT subject tests: Math II, Physics, Chemistry, Latin, US History 5s on 14 AP exams, including: Calculus BC, Physics C (both mechanics and E&M), Chemistry, Biology, Microeconomics, Spanish Language, Spanish Literature, English Language, English Literature, Latin
