Private tutor in Princeton, NJ

Education

English major at Princeton University, 3.84 GPA, 2380 SAT, 800 SAT II Math, 790 SAT II Chemistry 2013 Graduated from East Brunswick High School

Experience

I have tutored since 7th grade of middle school, working at Kumon Learning Center and helping kids with their math, reading and writing skills. I have worked for multiple tutoring companies and have tutored people on my own as well. At this point, I'm very confident in my ability to help others--and I'm extremely patient, creative with explanations, and hardworking. I want to be a tutor because I want everyone to succeed. I took the SAT once and scored a 2380. I have achieved perfect scores or nearly on SAT II Subject tests (790 and 800 on Chemistry and Math II). In high school, I served as president of National Honor Society and editor-in-chief of the school newspaper. I was awarded several titles for a small personal essay I wrote. I graduated in the top 15 in my class (ranks are not released, so I'm taking an educated guess here... :)) I've taken a range of classes at Princeton University, from microeconomics to creative writing to language. At Princeton's summer program for Chinese language, I graduated first among a class of nearly 20 students in their most advanced level. I've gone on to serve as an associate news editor for the Daily Princetonian, Princeton's daily newspaper. In terms of extracurriculars, I've delved into spoken word poetry and a cappella. I have a 3.82 GPA at Princeton.

Hobbies

As a person, I am warm, outgoing and caring. I always bring a smile and my best work. As a teacher and communicator, I am precise and pride myself on my articulacy, which I believe is critical to teaching. I love the humanities more than everything else, but I also have a deep appreciation for math and science, of course. I love to sing, formerly participated in an acappella group at Princeton, do spoken word, and am pursuing journalism as a career--although of course, that may change throughout the course of my time at Princeton. Anyways, I get along with just about everybody and make an effort to be more than just a distant teacher. I really care. :)
