I am pursuing an electrical engineering degree, partially to satisfy my love of science and mathematics. More importantly, it is to help develop a problem-solving oriented mindset, which I believe will help me pursue my interests in the field of business.
Franklin High School, Class of 2014, Valedictorian
ExperienceI've earned a great deal of experience by tutoring in high school and college. I have a personal approach with every student to accommodate for their learning style. I haven't had much difficulty in conveying and communicating the conceptual understanding necessary for learning a subject. I've found that many students struggle to understand what their teachers and books explain, because they don't understand the intuitive reasons behind it. Once that is grasped, the subject generally comes easy.
In high school, I was involved in programs like Junior Achievement, where we went on several trips during the year to teach our districts students about financial literacy; I was also an active member of National Honor Society, which revolved around tutoring and community service. I've earned over 450 hours in tutoring and community service.
Below, I've listed some of my scores to give a better idea of my personal background in the subjects I tutor.
Math: 770, Writing: 730 (Ess: 12), CR: 710
SAT II Math: 800/800
