Jeff S.
Private tutor in Princeton, NJ
Education
B.A. in Liberal Studies from The New School (finishing GPA 3.55), but also pursued undergraduate degrees in Clinical Psychology (vis-a-vis TCNJ), Spanish Literature & Int'l Relations (vis-a-vis Boston University). My curricular repertoire also consists of a scholarship through AmeriCorps (vis-a-vis Mercer County Comm. College), whereby I acclimated developmentally-disabled & fully-functioning students to formal writing/English literature at the undergraduate level. This included remedial and introductory-level writing skills as well as interpretation/analysis within the purview of (English) literature. Moreover, I've gained extensive experience in the arena of foreign language, Spanish (lang. & lit.) after spending my senior year of high school abroad in Zaragoza, ESP. (vis-a-vis Andover-Exeter Academy; School Year Abroad - sya.org)
Experience
The Peddie School - Hightstown, NJ (Class of 2004) SYA - Zaragoza, ESP (Class of 2004) AmeriCorps, Bonner Leader (Class of 2012) The New School - NY, NY (Class of 2014) ------------------- Academically, I've excelled in the arenas of Spanish Language & Literature, Writing, English, & Psychology - having obtained a 4.0 cumulative GPA across the board in all aforementioned subjects. My instructional experience also allows me to work with students whom are fully-functioning and disadvantaged (particularly, ADHD-ADD & developmentally disabled students) by virtue of my specialization in working with scholars in the aforementioned specialties. Having struggled with ADHD myself, I personally understand that students struggling with attentional problems merely learn in a different way and thus, necessitate a distinct instructional style.

Hobbies
I'm a mellow, introvert-extrovert whom prefers to enjoy artistic ventures on my free-time as well as physical activities (inc. weightlifting and skateboarding). Most of all, I enjoy playing around with my 3-year-old dog, Sancho - whose eccentric, high-energy personality practices my patience, but nevertheless necessitates praise for his personal achievements. This is the rubric I take when tutoring in any given subject - an individualized approach that also considers performance in classroom settings.
