Private tutor in Princeton, NJ

Education

Rutgers University. East Asian Studies (BA - Japanese). JLPT N2 Certification. TEFL Certification.

Experience

I taught English in Japan for 5 years and loved it! Now that I am back in the United States, I continue to tutor because I love it and want students to reach their studying goals. I am a private tutor for several subjects including but not limited to ESL (English as a Second Language), Japanese, and Adobe PhotoShop. For ESL students, I can either work according to their materials or I can create worksheets of my own. My worksheets are designed to target a student's weakness and improve their English in that area. For Japanese language students, I recommend the Genki workbook series. I have tutored high school and college students of Japanese using this workbook. I can also make additional worksheets for each student. My qualifications are studying Japanese through college, acquiring JLPT N2 certification, and the fact that I lived in Japan for 5 years. For PhotoShop, I currently have PhotoShop 7.0, CC 2014, Elements 10 and ImageReady 7. It is recommended that students have a full version of PhotoShop. Please let me know what you are looking to achieve if you need help editing images. I am also available for general English prep (reading, pronunciation, writing), art/drawing lessons, and elementary Chinese. I welcome students as young as elementary school. Please let me know what your child's needs are! I teach locally, mostly at the public library as there are private study rooms and many resources.

Hobbies

I love anything entertainment! I am an avid television and movie watcher and have actually used these elements to supplement language learning. For example, Japanese language students can request drama, manga, music, or variety show-centered lessons to learn the newest slang. I like to volunteer locally when I have the time and have participated in charity functions. I was a former art major and draw and create handmade crafts as a hobby.
